The number of post-secondary students choosing online and hybrid study programs is on the rise. As online education continues to gain popularity, more institutions are joining this trend or increasing their current online offer. While this more flexible and cost-effective modality can widen access to post-secondary education, opening the door to a group of people who may otherwise not have access to this level of education at all, there is yet another barrier which should not be overlooked, and this is digital literacy. For participants to succeed in an online or hybrid program, digital literacy must be taken into consideration from the course planning stage. In this Webinar, we will look at the concept of digital literacy and its implications for online learning in the context of post-secondary educatiion. We will also explore some resources and strategies to support students responding to demands and challenges related to digital literacy.
