Vocabulary is essential in language learning and so should be the instruction of it. Language instructors cater to a wide array of learners from different fields of study and contexts. Hence, the implementation calls for a variation of strategies and methodologies to suit the particular needs of the population that is being taught. This session intends to provide facilitators with tools that ensure the appropriate selection of creative and efficient ways of introducing, implementing and assessing vocabulary. The presenters seek to answer some core questions that often arise when teaching vocabulary: What needs to be taught? , How is it going to be implemented? How to assess the pupils´ mastery of the lexicon? and furthermore, What do teachers want their students to accomplish with the newly acquired words? Teachers will be provided with a helpful guide to customize their vocabulary choice, application and assessment by using easy – to –do drills in order to achieve a significant learning experience.
