In today’s world, becoming a proficient user of a language requires effective communication, collaboration, critical thinking, digital competence, and strategies for understanding complex informational texts. How can we embed these 21st century skills into English language curricula at all levels of instruction? In this session, we explore the complexity of the everyday and academic tasks learners need to engage with in today’s world and then experience how to address these skills in English language instruction. We see how educators can add a layer of 21st century skills to any lesson or curriculum through simple modifications to teaching practices and curriculum design.
