This session will engage participants by discussing how to foster learner autonomy through Project Based Learning (PBL). Presenters will define and differentiate PBL from diverse teaching pedagogies while providing participants with ideas for potential projects to adopt and adapt into their classrooms. In addition, participants will reflect upon the students’ role in the English classroom by re-thinking how to foster learner autonomy. This means, providing students with the opportunity to decide what they want to learn and how they want to learn it. Thus, building a community of practice in their English class.
