Getting students to use English in the classroom can be one of the biggest challenges when teaching young learners. This presentation explores the potential of implementing reward systems in the EFL class to promote a community of practice in which students monitor themselves and encourage their classmates to use English. Teaching experiences, theories of learning, recommendations, and possible adaptations for different demographics will be discussed throughout the session. There will be spaces for participants to comment and reflect on how they could implement reward systems in their classrooms according to their students’ needs
